Nickodemus joins forces with legendary Hip Hop pioneers The Jungle Brothers for a hypnotic Afro-funk journey built around a sample from Mamadou Tangoudia’s 1980s classic "Kori" (Soninke Camara Productions / Hot Mule Records).
A continuation of past collaborations with Afrika Baby Bam, including the Hip House throwback "Back in the Days" and a soulful cover of "In My House" by the Mary Jane Girls, this new track pays homage to the Jungle Brothers’ iconic Done By the Forces of Nature—a timeless influence on Nickodemus’ sound.
The result? A 90 BPM groove rich in vintage soul and afro-kinetic energy, laced with additional drums and congas by Nickodemus, channeling the vibe of Golden Era icons like X-Clan and Poor Righteous Teachers.
The chorus—“Funky Rhythmic, Characteristic, Afrokinetic”—anchors verses from Baby Bam Afrika and Mike G, bringing old-school charisma into a new rhythmic space.
To bring the project full circle, BAM created original hand-painted shirts featuring artwork inspired by the track, worn proudly in the streets and on stages worldwide.
